Internship Report on TEVTA (Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority) 2022-2023
Executive Summary
Internship is a fundamental part for achievement of this course. The main cause is to have a practical experience. Definitely it provides a student to get a sensible experience and give interior view of the organization selected. So Virtual University has given me job to learn practical work. So I have also done my internship in TEVTA at Government College of Technology . The main reason behind this internship is to get practical and professional knowledge from this great organization. I have worked 7 weak in TEVTA and learnt lot of activities, that have been performed in the management department, all decision have been taken at this department. Hence this report is going to write over the organization TEVTA. I worked in the under below departments during my stay in TEVTA
  1. Admin, HR Departments
  2. Accounting and finance departments
  3. Marketing and Customers relation department
Admin and HR Departments is responsible for managing the overall system of the institute. New appointment, new hiring, selection, were major activities performed by HRM   departments.. Accounts and finance deal the overall finance system of the institute including student’s fees, employee salary record, control all expensive, provide fund if there is need in the institute.  Marketing department is concern to promotion of institute in the market. This department is liable to promote this institute in eyes of students, engineers to get admission. Since TEVTA has no competitors so this department is running in comfortably.

Another Major portion of this report is Critical analysis, where I have wrote my true observation regarding to TEVTA issues that were diagnosed during internship. After this portion I have also wrote the SWOT of the TEVT, in this portion I have written strengths, weakness, opportunity, threats of the organization. At the end of the report I have written some necessary recommendation on the base on my findings, (critical analysis) and according to SWOT. 

Nature of the Organization

The nature of this organization is to develop a skilled workforce for the local industry. TEVTA develops the skilled and technically experienced workforce for local industries. TEVTA also provides business solutions to industrial units. TEVTA playing very important role for Re-engineering and consolidate the existing technical education and vocational training system under one management structure. TEVTA Established close relationships with various sectors of economy namely Agriculture, industry, Services and Commerce. TEVTA Regulate and develop standards of technical education and vocational training including internationally recognized curriculum, examination and certification system and assess the Manpower Training Needs in the context of domestic and global markets. Another function of TEVTA is Develop and offer Need Based Short Courses in the sector of new technologies to the Industry and also to offer services for solutions regarding associated production problems and establish a Staff Development System to offer demand oriented teacher & instructor training and upgrading performance. A skilled and Hunarmand Pakistan is the vision of the present government for social and economic advancement of the nation. This priority is reflected on skill development in all our major National Policies. National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC) under Prime Minister’s directions, has launched the Hunarmand Pakistan Programme.

TEVTA is a board of professional authority in charge of vocational training throughout the Punjab. This board has established TEVTA PBTE (Punjab Board of Technical Education). There are 472 vocational training centers are working under TEVTA. TEVTA provides full funding and services for all registered schools. And the planning, organization, direction and control of all vocational training institutes. The nature of this organization is to develop skilled manpower for local and international industry. TEVTA also offers business solutions to the industrial units. TEVTA is playing important role for the Re-engineering and consolidation of existing technical education and vocational training system in a management structure.

Comments on organization structure

As we know every organization have some goal to accomplish them, hence TEVTA institute also have some objectives, goal to achieve them. So this institute also have formal framework in which jobs tasks are divided into grouped.  Hence above structure represent that this is only for to achieve the main objectives of the TEVTA.

My work at Accounts Department

In accounts department I have learned how to make entries on vouchers and payments and receipts working on cash flow statement in company and also monthly preparation of balance sheet and profit and loss statement. On the other hand stay more day in this department Mr. Tariq has told me how to get approval for loan, he shows my all Performa that used in loan process. One day of my stay, he give me task to type Term finance certificate (TFC) so I did, I have spend three weak in this department,  In the first weak, Manager has gave me task to arrange payment vouchers and arrange the financial documents and put it into the file in proper sequence. In the second weak manager have told me about CRV Cash receivable vouchers, cash payment vouchers, journal vouchers for regular activities, Campus payment vouchers, Campus receipt vouchers, during my stay in TEVTA, I have fill all these vouchers as per manager instruction. In the Third Weak I have also learnt  how to prepare worker Salary, manager have gave me tasked to prepared salary Performa on computer , so I have prepped a excel sheet, and typed all workers name and their salary.

Organization Planning Strategies  

TEVTA Manager prepares the organization plans to achieve the plan by mutual suggestions and opinions. The manager of planning to increase the Students base of the organization and recruitment marketing, providing Students with modern facilities Students more managers, care etc. can be trained to make better decisions. They also need a supportive environment. Decision-making increasingly happens at all levels and fields. TEVTA manager can make decisions on major planning, organizing, directing, controlling and managing to think about how their own department may contribute more effectively to the entire organization.
