Comparison of Training Practices 

First of all I thank my Allah Almighty, the most merciful and beneficent, who gave me strength to write and complete this project by utilizing my skills and knowledge. I am also thankful for giving me spirit of patience, consistency and courage for writing the project. I extend my heartiest thanks to my seniors and colleagues who assisted me on every occasion to enable me to write this project. My parents, classmates and friends come next in the list of those whom I have to thank. I am responsible for errors and mistakes presented in the report and a positive and constructive criticism will always be greeted with warmth.

Abstract

Human resources is one the major assets for any organization it plays a very significant role in success of any organization. Training is essential for employees in today’s ever changing corporate scene. This study was conducted to examine how training practices are implemented in Pakistani Private Banking sector. The aim of this study was to examine and compare the training system of two private sector banks namely National Bank of Pakistan and The Bank of Punjab. 

In order to achieve the main objectives of this study primary and secondary data was required. Secondary data was obtained from internet business journals and official websites of the selected banks, but for primary data sample size consisting of lower to middle level employees from both banks was selected. For data collection structured questionnaires related to training dimensions were created and distributed among employees of both banks. 

Training Practices of National bank and BOP


Responses received from employees were measured using statistical technique of mean test analysis and the results were neatly displayed in tabular form along with a chart for better comparison and study. Tables 1.1 has all mean values of each dimension separately and overall mean values of training practices of both banks, interpretation is provided for better explanation of the mean values.


According to the findings achieved the study was able to measure employees’ perception regarding training practices at both selected banks. Based on the findings the study has found that although employees of both banks has positive perceptions regarding training practices at their respective banks but the mean value analysis shows that BOP had a better and more effective training system than the one at NBP therefore BOP has a more effective training system among the two banks.
